St. Paul’s Cathedral is a magnificent sample of English baroque architecture, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1711. Situated in London, the Cathedral is a top attraction for the capital city and an architectural masterpiece, its dome being considered the finest in the world.
Drawing religious buildings is a great chance to rediscover magnificent symbols of spirituality transposed in architectural language – shapes and spaces dedicated to God, to the sacred meaning of our lives. A cathedral rises up for the glory of our spirit, it is the symbol of the infinite power which waits inside, for us to discover it and make our world better.
The current choice for a hyperrealistic drawing was one of the most challenging I’ve done, because of the intricate details and the perspective. Taking around 30 hours to complete, the drawing is in A3 size and I used HB and 4B pencils.
