Eiffel Tower – drawing

Monica Cirstea

The Eiffel Tower remains a lasting memory long after you see it for the first time as a tourist. Among other representative constructions all over the world – we could mention, for example, Westminster Palace (presented a few days ago), The Statue of Liberty, Colloseum or The Tower from Pisa – this iron lattice structure is defined by uniqueness and innovation. Since it was erected in 1889 as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair, it has become both a cultural icon of France and an irresistible attraction for tourists all over the world.

I shall present all the main historical and technical facts concerning the Eiffel Tower in an upcoming article. For now, let’s have a look on the drawing inspired by this monumental construction. Made in August 2012 and finished in 3 days, it was slightly easier to deal with than the previous one, Westminster Palace. Although concerning a lot of attention and focus on details, the slim figure of the construction dramatically reduced the difficulty of drawing. Its dimensions are 500×700 (mm), well-suited for being framed and decorating a wall.

I hope this awe-inspiring image of the international tourists’ favourite icon will bring you in mind of a bright, picturesque spring morning strolling around in Paris, or maybe to resemble the quaint charm of Latin Quartier! Today, let’s be in a French mood!

Let’s go for a walk… (part III) Eiffel Tower
